1 Renaissance Lace
Of two sorts, fine for dresses and coarse for draperies. It consists of fine linen tape made into a design and the parts connected together with twisted bars wheels and other flat stitches. -
2 Battenberg Lace
Patterns formed with narrow tape, joined together with various brides, producing a form of Renaissance lace, but of coarser quality. Now made both by machinery and hand. Hand-made is used for collars and cuffs on dresses, and machine-made for drapery and other purposes. -
3 Tape Lace
Hand-made needle lace similar to the Renaissance of the 17th century. -
4 Bone Point Lace
A general term for laces having no regular ground or mesh, such as Renaissance. -
